Playmobil® 4265 (“Jewelry Robbers Set”) introduces 2 new friends of Pete & Rob: Sly (right) and Eve (left).
Eve is the first female criminal in Playmobil’s growing “gangster world” after Playmobil® 4268 (with Pete’s brother Ross), Playmobil® 4157 (with Pete’s cousin Clint) & Playmobil® 3136 (Pete’s brother Jake). It all started with Playmobil® 3161 (Pete & Rob), of course.

Playmobil® 4265 contains some awesome features:

It’s not easy to rob the crown from Karl-August XI. as the exhibit has an alarm function!

In order to rob the crown without activating the alarm, Sly & Eve use a glass cutter!

Once they have cut the hole, Sly can easily “fish” the crown with his fishing rod.

“[A] cycling connection can be reported for Beckett’s most famous play, Waiting for Godot. No bicycle appears in this play, but Hugh Kenner in his essay “The Cartesian Centaur” reports that Beckett once, when asked about the meaning of Godot, mentioned “a veteran racing cyclist, bald, a ’stayer,’ recurrent placeman in town-to-town and national championships, Christian name elusive, surname Godeau, pronounced, of course, no differently from Godot.”

“The main point in Waiting for Godot, as well as in most of Beckett’s works, is that nothing seems to change and something is repeated more or less eternally. These are exercises in repetition and variation — and the same can be said of the motions of the bicycle: its rider is moved through the landscape but does not move in relation to the vehicle. The bicycle’s chain and wheels are continuously moving forward but never escape their cyclic nature and always return to where their motion starts. The bicycle for Beckett seems to have been an infinity machine. Cycling enthusiasts know that of all moving animals and machines, the bicycle has been scientifically proven to be the most efficient. Mankind never came closer to the old dream of a perpetuum mobile than with this fascinating two-wheel machine. Weather and terrain permitting, a bicycle and its rider can stay in motion for hours on end without exhausting all energies.”

Well, what can we say?
We were and still are deeply moved and happy after we got the message that the artist & musician Wanja Belaga was inspired by one of our gallery pictures.
You can see the result on the left!
It is named
Pete und Rob in Paris

Well, what can we say?
We were and still are deeply moved and happy after we got the message that the artist & musician Wanja Belaga was inspired by one of our gallery pictures.

You can see the result on the left!

It is named
Pete und Rob in Paris
Playmobil für Nostalghiker
Gips, Gouache, Acryl und Edding auf Leinwand
Pete and Rob in Paris
Playmobil for Nostalgihehests
Gypsum, gouache, acryl, marker (Edding) on canvas
(2009)

You can check out more pictures of Wanja either on his website or on his Facebook gallery.

Pete & Rob (or Playmobil 3161) seem to attract other artists as well.
As mentioned in one of our Tweets, the New York artist Nick Musaelian painted Pete as well as Rob:

If you see other artists that used Pete & Rob in their work, please let us know.
We are more than happy to promote them here.

So now we have the Super Set with the other brother Jake.

The Super Set is super indeed! It contains a whole crime scene or rather the securing of evidence.

Absolutely awesome is the use of Plasticine: You can knead it on the stage, so that it leaves real footprints (see arrow on pic below).

Y0u not only have a camera but a real magnifying glass that really magnifies!

LOL!
